Agro-turismo Quinta da Fonte opened its doors in 2008 after a short period of renovation the old farmhouse and clearing the land.
Jolein Aten and Liedewij Schieving, the owners of Agro-turismo Quinta da Fonte, have been working hard to recuperate the terrain and converted the existing ruins into a carefully decorated Bed and Breakfast, a lovely cottage, a Tiny House built in natural materials, spacious pitches for our fully equipped rental tents and ground rental tent areas.
The renovations were started with local Portuguese builders, meanwhile the owners learned a lot about building and renovation and do a big part of the building work themselves. The originality of the buildings and their beautiful surroundings give Agro-Tourismo Quinta da Fonte its very charming appeal, once visited, never forgotten! the wonderful nature all around makes this place a hidden gem. The owners value nature and sustainability and they try to integrate traditional building methods and using local materials such as clay, hay and lime into the buildings on the site. The old houses and ruins have been rebuilt and some modern improvements have been added, like bathrooms with hot showers and flushing toilets.

We love all our animals, both pets and farm. Our cats and dogs are very comfortable around the farm and with all our visitors, don’t be surprised if they try to adopt you during your stay. They are individuals and have there own routine and ways of enjoying themselves every day.
We have goats and chickens, if you are comfortable around animals our visitors can help feed or pet them. Its a wonderful way to get close to animals in their happy environment.

Like many people, we enjoy people enjoying themselves. We have Parties, events and happy occasions throughout the year. Whether its a friends birthday, anniversary or simply a special occasion, or we just fancy a celebration to share with our friends and guests. If you have an occasion you wish to celebrate why not let us cater it for you, alternatively we can cater at your venue. Please ask us for details and availability.

Agro-turismo Quinta da Fonte is organizing several events throughout the year. Music nights with a variety of live music, like fado, the traditional Portuguese folk music, local singer-songwriters, rock bands. Dinner parties with a special theme will happen for entertaining our home guests and people living in the area.
